Blessed Lughnasadh

Let the Chase of Lugh begin!  We will follow him through the three harvest festivals of Lughnasadh, Mabon (Autumn Equinox), and then finally Samhain (Halloween).

Lughnasadh is the beginning of the grain harvest, and the harvest season in general.  Now is the time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.  We give thanks to the Earth for her bounty and beauty.  We celebrate with feasts and festivals, fire and bread.  We acknowledge the return of the darkness and gather our harvest to see us through the coming winter.

Persephone and the Pomegranate

Tomorrow I will be in the studio creating beautiful pendulums charged with the fruitful energy of Lughnasadh.  I will be posting to my Etsy through out the week.

You can find more information about Lughnasadh/Lammas here.
Brightest Blessings,
Jessica

May Faeries guide your path and...

Nature comfort your soul.
Firefly trails in the forest

Sometimes I get so busy "running the race" that I forget to breathe, relax, connect.  So today I remind myself to take time to enjoy the beauty and wonders of Mother Earth.  I will watch the fluttering butterflies, I will hear the droning bees, I will taste the sweetest fruits, and I will feel the warmth and guidance provided by Nature.  Will you join me?

Camera Kidnapping in Progress...

Mwahahahahahaha!
Several weeks ago I borrowed my Dad's Nikon SLR camera.  I have been thinking of investing in a new camera and I wanted to give it a test drive before I purchased.  Wow!  What a difference!  I would never have been able to capture a shot like this with my old camera.

So I will be holding my Dad's camera hostage until I can afford my own.  Click here to contribute to the ransom fund!

Adoption Day

Four years ago the Mr and I decided to adopted a dog.  At the time the hubby was traveling for work every other week, so finding time to visit the shelters was difficult.  I would find a puppy that I thought would be a good fit for us only to have said puppy adopted by the time the Mr. returned home.   This went on for several months.  Needless to say I really wanted a dog, with the Mr. gone all the time I was feeling a bit lonely.  But finally after months of searching we adopted Logan, a Queensland Heeler.   He was the only one out of his 7 litter mates not barking and jumping around like mad at the shelter.  He has been my shadow ever since.  I am so glad we adopted him.  Happy Adoption Day Logan!!

1st Day Home

Playing in the mud!

What a good doggie!!

And just in case you haven't had enough of my dog...here is a video of him playing in the water.

Thanks Logan for teaching me to have fun, not take myself so serious and to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.  You are such a good boy!!!
