Albuquerque Pagan Pride Day 2013

Once again I had the honor of attending the Albuquerque Pagan Pride Day Celebration which was held on September 29.  I always share a booth with my Mom, Sharon of Touch of the Goddess.  This year's theme was Harvest Fae and the organizers encourage vendors to dress in costume and decorate their booths.  We decided this year to completely change the look of our booth and I'm so glad that we did.  We started shopping and gathering supplies in May!  We wanted the booth to look like a faery-gypsy caravan.  I'm so pleased with the way every thing came together.  Take a look!

All set up and ready to go!
I always do a "test run" of my table to make sure that I have everything and also to save time during the day of the event.  So these close up shots were taken a few days before the event.

My table cloth started with purple shimmery fabric from JoAnns followed by a velvet throw with fringe that I had purchased several years ago from Hobby Lobby.  The picture frames, collector's box, and chalk board I found at hobby lobby as well.  {Thank goodness for sales and coupons!!}

I filled the collector's box with all the wonderful things I thought a faery would collect during their worldly travels...keys, citrine stones, sea shells, sparkly bits, tobacco {for blessings...this is a pagan event}, feathers, moss, little birds, old photos, and rose quartz.  I found the cute little chalkboard signs at an antique store and the fortune teller card I purchased from A Fanciful Twist.  And of course I couldn't forget to add my business cards from moo.com.

I just love the cute door knob card holder I made.  I started with a glass door knob from Hobby Lobby and added brass wire and a bit of glitter.  The spools of velvet ribbon and the metal crown came from an antique store.

I upholstered 12x12 picture frames to use as my pendulum displays.  Just remove the glass and add a little batting and fabric.

Now on to my costume!!  I decided that I didn't want to go as a faery, I wanted to go as a faun.

The oxblood jacket is vintage velvet.  {I plan to wear this jacket all fall...I just love it!}  The scarf I found at World Market and the vest on ebay.  I purchased the faun horns from Voodoo Soap and Beads.  Everything else I had in my closet.  I made my Pendulum Maker badge with resin paper and other ephemera.

{Couldn't resist adding a photo of me "mugging" my dog, Logan...}

I had such a wonderful time at this event...talking with friends, meeting new people, and sharing a wonderful autumn day with our pagan community.  Can't wait for next year!
